Personality: Ferret is known for being a calm, understanding influence in Shadowclan. Like all of Shadowclan he is prideful, but won't go to extremes to defend it. He is protective of his clan and will protect them to his death. He is very territorial and won't tolerate others in his clan or territory. He tells his clan to attack on site if an outsider crosses the borders. He doesn't have a quick temper. He tries to stay calm, like his mentor, Larkwater, was. He can be selfish and jealous with mates though. He has none so far and no kits, though he treats those he's mentored like his own kin.

History: Ferret was born into shadowclan by his mother Waspflower and father Bluebeetle. Along with him they had a she-cat named Mouse. Ferret was the bigger kit and loved to tumble with his smaller sister. One day at 3 moons old his mother was relaxing near the nursery but her back was to them. He took this chance to nudge Mouse out of camp so they could explore outside. Mouse was scared to death but always followed after her brother. They got to a a deep cavern that smelled funny. Mouse, wanting to act brave in front of Ferret, peeked inside and the next second changed Ferret's world forever. Snarls sounded and jaws wrapped around Mouse's head, twisting it, breaking it, and killing her. A red-furred animal appeared, Mouse dangling from it's jaws. Ferret saw Mouse's dead stare and fluffed up his fur before running for it. The fox was dead on his heels though. Until Bluebeetle and his patrol showed up and scared off the fox. Not knowing about mouse yet, Bluebeetle chastised his son and asked why he went out of camp. Ferret couldn't speak and just sat there shaking. Next he was asked about his sister. Ferret glanced up at his father with round kit-blue eyes. "I'm sorry." He gave out a pitiful mewl. Bluebeetle didn't hesitate and ordered his patrol to look around the area. Soon they found Mouse's mangled body. Wasp was known for her quick temper and struck Ferret when she learned what happened to mouse. She yelled that it was all his fault. It took Bluebeetle and two other warriors holding her back so she could calm down. Although she did, she and Ferret never were close again. 


Ferret became Ferretpaw at six moons old and got the mentor, Larkwater. She was a very calm and reassuring influence on him. She took everything in stride and hardly ever became upset. She was a great listener and helped him even though he had a million and one questions, worrying if he was doing something right. Soon Larkwater was more like a mother to him then mentor. He chose to dine with her than Waspflower and looked to her for more than advice on fighting. When he was 12 moons old though there was a fierce battle on the border with some foxes. Although Ferretpaw was asked to stay back he was still upset about Mousekit and charged in. A larger fox jumped on him and grabbed him from the neck before he could react. Larkwater and Waspflower were fighting side by side and both saw Ferretpaw lifted by the fox. Lark asked if Wasp was going to save him and she hissed and said that he killed her kit. Lark snarled and said that Ferret was her kit as well, before jumping in to help her apprentice. She bit the fox's heel and Ferretpaw dropped to the ground. The fox raked his claws against his muzzle, leaving it blood red. Mentor and apprentice jumped onto the fox, along with Bluebeetle. The fox put all it's weight on Larkwater, suffocating her, before Shadowclan could chase off the foxes. Ferretpaw was licking his mentor's fur while she took her last breaths. She told him that she was glad that she could have a son at least, meaning Ferret. Then she died. Bluebeetle came limping back to carry the black and silver she-cat, but Ferretpaw insisted he help. They carried her back to camp and held vigil for her and the other fallen warriors of Shadowclan. Due to his bravery in the battle he became a warrior and due to the scar on his face he was named Ferretscar.

Ferretscar was given his first apprentice, Stingpaw, at 18 moons. She was more feisty than him and had more confidence than several cats put together, but she listened well and became a great warrior named Stingspirit. Ferretscar mentored one other apprentice before whitecough took the leader's last life. When the deputy became leader he called Ferretscar as deputy. Many approved.  At 35 moons he became leader and has been leading shadowclan for 10 moons now.

Role Play Sample: The wind ruffled Ferretstar's golden fur as he stepped out of camp. It was a bright day as dawn let it's light shower the clan territories. His golden coat turned almost blazing yellow in the light. The large tom stretched out his legs and dug his long claws into the soil before running off into a sprint. Large paws pounded the earth and his quick movement made the prey scurry into hiding around him. It didn't matter. Today he had to relax, not hunt. But when a daring squirrel crossed his path he haulted. He couldn't turn down a challenge, that was for sure. He bunched up his muscles and leaped. Easily his large paws came down on the brown-furred animal. He broke it's neck then burried it, continuing on with his run.

Comments/Other: Didn't mention this in history but he got his name Ferret, from his thick tail like a ferret.
