A yawn split Jadewing's mouth before he could halt it, burning his nose and making his eyes scrunch up. As he slipped out of the Warrior's den, he slammed his mouth back shut and shook out his fur, banishing an extremely persistent catch of moss with a casual flick. The grey and white tuxedo tom turned his head to take surveillance of the clearing in the early hours, there wasn't much life about. The sun was only just rising to greet the sky again after a long night, the first rays of light were touching down on the cold ground, which would soon be warmed. Sunset was his favorite time of day, but sunrise was a close second, which was why Jadewing was always up early, as well as needing to perform his deputy duties of course. Dusting his tail across the ground as he went, the small tom made his way out into the middle of the clearing, setting himself a short distance from the fresh-kill pile to watch the sunrise. He did regret that Shadowclan had no real higher places to watch the dawn, unless he fancied climbing a tree. With Jadewing's speed and balance it probably wouldn't have been that difficult, but he had no wish to teach himself on that morning.
At least for a time now he could relax, before too many others awoke. He'd need to see if he could string together a border patrol of some description as well, and someone would need to hunt for the queens and others. Perhaps he'd do that, after all, he was much better at hunting than he was at fighting. The grey and white tom sat with the smooth grace of one that thought out every mood he made, wrapping his feathered tail around his white paws gently. Lifting his angular head, the tom's jade green eyes scanned the horizon, lighting up with the reflection of the sun. Such peace could be found in the quiet moments like this, and it was this peace that Jadewing hungered for. Chaos was pain and pain was overrated, he'd had more than enough in his lifetime. "At least you kept your promise, to greet the sky again."

Sunstain opened his eyes. He the sun was just now rising. Soon the entire camp would be awake and buzzing. He shook away the last sleepiness he had as well as a yawn. He slowly rose to his paws. He took his time weaving through the bodies in the warrior's den. He didn't know how anyone got out without waking at least one cat. Yet somehow, as if to spit in his own face, he did. He exited the den without a peep. Jadewing was in his usual spot in camp at this time of day. The cat seemed to always be up at this time and always observed the sunrise. Sunstain approached towards the lone warrior. "Hello." He started the conversation.

"Not really. Sometimes I just wake up." Sunstain started. "No idea why. It's just like my body says you're good." He said kind of awkwardly. It was a weird conversation that they were having. The tom looked up at the sunrise. "You sure love sunrises to wake up every day and look at them."

Jadewing nodded his head in acknowledgment of Sunstain's statement before turning back to where the sky was now died with streaks of tangerine and honey. It was easy, he realized, to carry on a conversation, to sit here comfortably, when he didn't feel pressured to look at the warrior he was talking to. Eyes were the window to the soul after all, and sometimes it was just easier, less painful, to look away instead of closer.
He started slightly at the warrior's statement, eyes squinting thoughtfully before a crack of a smile appeared on his muzzle. "Love? Well....perhaps you are right. They are more cheerful than sunsets after all, but I think I still prefer them." He admitted with a little purr, shifting slightly in his seat to get comfortable. Sitting around wasn't his thing at all, he needed to be doing something. "You wouldn't be up for a hunt this fine morning, would you?" He queried innocently, though he was hoping, even more than he realized, that Sunstain would say yes.

ooc: Haha, no worries xD
Jadewing nodded silently, surprised with how relieved he felt when Sunstain agreed to a hunt. "Do you have anywhere in mind?" He asked politely, more than happy to let the ginger striped warrior decide. He owed him after all, even if Sunstain didn't realize it. And of course, Jadewing wasn't about to tell him.
Feeling more energetic, the lithe tom bounded over to the camp entrance and looked back, waving his tail to urge Sunstain along. Jadewing was shorter than the other warrior and not as strong, but faster and with better balance. He couldn't be underestimated just for his size. He was deputy after all. "Hopefully we can get back before too many others wake up."

Jadewing lifted his head to scent the air, parting his jaws as a gentle breeze drifted past. The chilly air burned his throat but also carried with it tantalizing promises of food. "I can smell rabbit, I think." he reported to Sunstain, feeling pretty cheerful about the fact, considering rabbits didn't usually move this far into their territory. With his tiny form the chill was getting to him, a good chase would warm him up in no time. Flexing his paws anxiously, Jadewing twitched his ear to order Sunstain to silence. He sent the tom a questioning glance, wondering if the tom could smell anything he couldn't.
