Skeletalstripe, Thunderclan DeputyThe sun beat down steadily glistening on the softly flowing river. The wind blew over the water sending the scent of the Riverclan and Thunderclan border up to the forest. A black silhouette stood a shadow among the light shrubbery. White stripes painted across the silhouette along with two beaming blue eyes. Silently the silhouette rose and stalked to the border. It was the Thunderclan deputy, Skeletalstripe, who quickly checked the border. He sighed wishing he was able to go down to the river and swim but he wouldn't cross the border unless necessary. He walked on the border and marked the border at one of the trees he had grown accustomed to marking while on patrol.

The Riverclan warrior was on patrol, sort of. It was hard to call it a patrol when you were alone, but everyone else seemed to be busy. Perhaps someone would catch up with her later on, but for now she was content to be alone. Or at least she was, until she caught fresh Thunderclan scent along the border. The dappled brown warrior froze, one paw lifted in mid-stride as the scent flowed over her. Thunderclan, but not something she could exactly place by name.
Deciding to investigate, she stole forward quietly, paws gliding over the reed beds softly. She doubted that this was anything to be stalking around for, it was probably just a border patrol. Still, she felt safer scoping out the situation first, especially because she was alone. She was soon glad that she had, once the Thunderclan cat came into view. She recognized Skeletalstripe straight away, what on earth was the Thunderclan deputy doing out alone? Not that she could ask, she was doing the same, but at least she knew there was no danger now.
Stepping out of the reed beds, she raised her fluffy tail in greeting to the patrolling tom. "Skeletalstripe, it's strange to see your face out here alone." she called, by way of greeting. Stepping to the water's edge, she smiled to the tom on the other side and nodded respectfully to him with a smile.

Skeletalstripe, Thunderclan DeputyThe reeds swished on the Riverclan side of the border but Skeletalstripe knew if it was a border patrol that a skirmish would not erupt. He wasn't just a deputy for his looks and his knowledge he was made deputy for how he uses his knowledge and leadership to help his clan. With a sniff of the air he could tell it was a single cat and not a patrol. Skeletalstripe ignored the reeds until a question came to his ears. "Skeletalstripe, it's strange to see your face out here alone." asked a Riverclan cat. He nodded "It is yours as well. Unless your patrol hides behind the reeds." Skeletalstripe said as he turned to the She-cat. "As far as I can tell though your alone. Unless Riverclan has found it's way to smell like reeds instead of the river and it's bountiful fish." He joked. He nodded a greeting to the she-cat he knew he had seen her before but couldn't put a name to the face before him.

Wrenclaw nodded her head in admittance of the fact, though it wasn't like Skeletalstripe could judge her on it. "I'm alone, presumably like yourself." she assured the tom, whisking her feathered tail to curl around her back leg delicately. She stepped further out, escaping the clinging confines on the reed and bracing her paws on the river edge, feeling the cold seep into her paw pads.
"To you, we'd probably smell better, I think." Wrenclaw purred, deciding to go along with his somewhat lame humor and simply enjoy the fact that she wasn't being treated with hostility. To a Riverclan cat, clanmates didn't smell like fish at all, not that fish smelled bad. But whatever. It didn't seem like he knew her name, and while she knew his it was unpolite to remain a stranger. "I'm Wrenclaw," she offered quietly, once again nodding a greeting to the deputy.
"You're awfully small, for a patrol."

Skeletalstripe, Thunderclan Deputy
Skeletalstripe grinned at the responce of the she-cat. He wasn't used to seeing Riverclan cats= act like how the she-cat was, every cat had mocked him until he was deputy and so he half expected hostility of his small humor. He nodded a greeting when she told him her name. "I would have said a more propper greeting had I known you weren't goign to do as most warriors do," he said. While he spoke he took a peek at the softy flowing river. How he wished he could climb into the cold waters. He turned his attention back to Wrenclaw when she began speaking again. "You're awfully small, for a patrol."
He nodded at her comment. "I am not on patrol. I was out on a walk and so I decided I might as well mark the border while I was at it. How's the river?" Skeletalstripe asked. He knew he couldn't really tell her why he had come. so without trying not to pry to much on how Riverclan was he popped the question. Plus if the water was okay he might just comeback later at moon high to swim.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Wrenclaw's mouth twisted into a half-smile in reaction to Skeletalstripe's own, surprised by the appearance of it on his face. His feathered tail flicking in content happiness, she cocked her head with a light laugh at his words. Shrugging slightly, the brown she-cat purred. "Don't worry, I forgive you." she joked lightly, only pausing afterward to contemplate what he had meant. Giving him a faint quizzical glance, she hunted for an explanation. "What do you mean, what most cats do?"
So he wasn't on patrol. Well, it made sense, and she was doing the exact same thing. It wasn't like she was shirking duties or whatever, but sometimes a solitary walk was good for her being. Wrenclaw didn't do well in most social situations or gatherings; in fact, she was quite shy and introverted a great deal of the time. She couldn't remember ever being so open in a conversation as she was here. It was refreshing for a change, if a little unknown for her. His comment ended in a question, so the she-cat took a moment to ponder over what he meant by it. Was he talking about the actual river, or Riverclan as a whole? Either way it didn't matter, she supposed. "Warm enough with all this sun, though the wind is speeding up the flow a little more than usual. Why, you planning a dip?" she asked with a purr, not accusatory in her tone but merely curious.

OOC: I like the new picture. Skeletalstripe, Thunderclan Deputy "Most cat's treat me like an outsider because of an unfortunate event that I came from." Skeletalstripe said as he looked up into the sky. He knew starclan watched on all cats although he still didn't know if they would accept him. He shook himself from his tormented mind and returned to reality. It took all Skeletalstripe had to stop himself from grinning at Wrenclaw's next comment. He did know how to swim and he did want to go for a dip but he didn't want to say that to Wrenclaw. She would probably be offended that the Thunderclan deputy Sneaked onto Riverclan territory for a swim. Although he had to unless it was a hard leaf bare. "No, I used to come here and watch the river when I was younger. I've never been close enough to touch it myself. " He explained trying not to choke on the lie.
