Brief Description:
As his name implies, Lionstar takes after the legendary lions of old. His blazing golden coat is short and rugged, giving him a rough, rougish look which really draws in the ladies. His fur is the colour of liquid gold, smooth and blinding in the sunlight. His front white paw is splashed with white, a random blotch that contrasts and sticks out from his bright fur. His front right paw is also encased in a sock of white, with the claws of that paw also being a strange white colour. The rest of his claws are coal black and dangerously curved like brambles. Lionstar's eyes are an alluring orangey amber, the colour of molten amber. Usually serious but always holding captivating emotion, Lionstar's hypnotic gaze usually draws the eyes of many she-cats. So in short, he is a real chic magnet without meaning to. Blessed with awe inspiring good looks and a charming appearance, Lionstar is a real looker.
Lionstar is tall but stocky, having broad shoulders and plenty of muscle to boast about. Although strong, he was still blessed with nimble paws, even if they are slowed by his added weight. So his speed isn't something he overly relies on, but it is there and he can use it with deadly accuracy. He preffers to rely more on his own strength and wit during a battle. His tail is bushed out and thick, very fluffy and soft but long nonetheless. An ungroomable mess, his tail more resembles a foxes tail rather than a cats, but it is wonderful to touch, as it is so adorably soft, but it is a fact he hates himself, though it draws in more women.
Lionstar always tries his best to appear well groomed and neat before his clanmates and the cats of the other clans. This is not only because he likes to look good obviously, but also because he wants to show off his strength and order. Appearing messy and unkempt in front of the other clans or even his own clan, could come across as disorder or worry, and make his clan look weak or unprepared for an attack. He finds public image very important, so he always takes care of his body and fur.
Lionstar moves with a strange, almost femine grace. His movements are always slow and graceful, as if each step has been carefully thought out already before he makes them. The gentle, slow movements of the tom can often be misleading, causing others to believe him slow or pathetic, when in fact he can switch strides and strike like an adder in an instant if the need so arises.
Brief Personality:
Lionstar is a calm, thoughtful being. He hates rushing into decisions, more enjoying to take his time to sort out his problems. He has a complex mind that enjoys puzzles and mysteries and as such immensly enjoys sparring verbally with the other leaders and their political words, which often hide thousands of secrets and promises hidden behind false statements. When making decisions for his clan, he never rushes or lets himself be pressured by clan rumours, beliefs or arguments. In the end, he always makes the decision that he belives would best benefit his clan, but at the same time always tries to value their imput and keep them happy.
Lionstar has no real concept of bad situations, always seeming to find the positives in whatever problem he or his clan may be in. Make no mistake, he can get serious when the time comes, but his light personality has brought his clan through many tough times when he refuses to give upor let depression or problems overwhelm him. Of course this positive attitude can sometimes annoy his clanmates or the other clans, as he can never really grasp the bad side of a situation, but his jolly, unquenchable spirit is something immensly valued in the end.
He has a somewhat warped sense of humour, cracking jokes that only he seems to understand most of the time. He takes pleasure in the darkest things, contradicting to his bright personality and causing endless amounts of confusion for his clanmates. He's addicted to hunting, whether it be prey or cats. The thrill of the hunt, the bloodlust that sometimes overtakes him makes him dark and witty, with a somewhat evil laugh and malicious smile when he gets caught up in his shadowed fantasies. However he never has and never will hurt a clanmate, but makes no such promise to cats from the other clans. Sometimes he loses control of himself and just lets go, letting his crazed side take over if it is in his benefit or he is 'bored', as he puts it.
This would be a good time to mention that although extremely patient, Lionstar becomes bored very easily. Even with his boredom, he never undertakes any reckless actions or does something that would endanger his clan. Sometimes he can do foolhardy things, but only when he is sure it is only himself that will have to suffer the consequences. When it comes to his clan, he is calm and collected and always thinks of their safety. However when concering himself, Lionstar can sometimes make rash decisions, as he sees his life as far less important than those of his clanmates.
Lionstar is very, very protective of those he cares about. Willing to put his life on the line for any one of them, he cares more for the clan than he does himself. He becomes very defensive when it comes to the ones he loves with his usual patient outlook snapping if they are in danger. He completely loses his demeanor if a close friend or loved one is in danger, freaking out and rushing into the situation without a thought for himself or a thought out plan. When he has a goal to achieve, he is single minded and completely set on achieving in, no matter what the cost. He throws himself fully into whatever he is doing, always making sure it is done to the best of his ability.
Although sometimes unpredictable with his two black and white personalities, the darker side and the patient, good side, Lionstar is a beloved leader. Though his darker, more ferocious side scares others, even his clanmates sometimes, they trust him greatly. When he is in a bad mood, they all tip-toe around the leader to keep from making the problem worse, when he is in a mood, Lionstar craves solitude and a small space to keep from doing something he'll regret later on. But his cheerful, caring, lighter side makes up for his moodyness and his clan's absolute trust in him helps him through his more 'savage' times.
To put it simple, he is a cat with multiple personalities that differ like night and day.
The Lighter Side: Patient and calm. When like this, he's a good, clear thinker who always puts his clan above his own personal needs and desires. Not quite a pacifist, but always believing that problems should be solved with words rather than claws.
The Darker Side: Dark and sadistic. Not many things can make Lionstar snap to his dark personality. But when he does, it's almost impossible to get him back until whatever has made him angry is punished, or he is killed. His body does not go through any physical changes, but his mind snaps and he becomes an insane, sadistic cat. Filled with rage and an animalistic need to hunt and fight, he'd sooner torture a cat than kill it in a fight if he got the chance. However, he himself as well as his clan fear this darker side, which explains Lionstar's usual serene nature, as he tries to keep this monster in check.
Brief History:
Lionkit-
Lionkit began life similiar to any other kit of Riverclan. Born to Leafshade and Badgerstripe of Riverclan, Lionkit was the eldest kit and brother to Goldenkit and Skykit, two smaller she-cats. Although he recieved plenty of love and care from his mother and the rest of the queens, who used to fuss over his beautiful coat, telling him to take care of it, lest he become ugly as he grew older. This queenly influence started Lionkit on his paranoia on appearances. But even with the care of his mother, Lionkit's father Badgerstripe never truly awknowledged the kits. His father was a rough, loner type of warrior who kept away from everyone else in the clan unless it was absolutely necissary. There were even rumours running around that Badgerstripe wasn't the real, biological father of the kits, as he had never really spent time with Leafshade before. But he violently claimed they were his, so the matter was dropped.
Playing with Goldenkit, the creamy she-cat and Skykit, the silver tabby kept Lionkit occupied and amused for a time. But soon he discovered his curious side and was out an about in a matter of few moons, poking his nose into everything and anything. He made quite a nuisance of himself, getting under everyone's paws and going into places he wasn't wanted. One time, he accidentally stumbled into the leader's den during a meeting for the senior warriors and received the scolding of his life from his mother, but only after being clouted over the ear cruelly by his father.
Reaching his fifth moon, Lionkit had grown big and strong, much larger than both his delicate sisters, who had inherited their mother's graceful beauty. Lionkit himself was clumsy and awkward on paws too big for his body, as he had yet to properly go into them. But the large paws already hinted at a powerful future warrior. His father saw this and decided to help along the process, he began to sneak out of camp with Lionkit and proceeded to start his battle training early. Lionkit went along with it, proud and immensely pleased that his father thought he was worthy of such attention. Every night he came back too the nursery, battered and exhausted. His father always made sure to keep his claws sheathed, lest he leave evidence of the brutal training and be caught out, but he wholloped the kit with powerful blows, not holding back on the smaller and weaker body of his son. Under his father's instruction, Lionkit began to eat more and sleep during the day to prepare him for his night training. He felt so proud of himself, led astray by his father's words, Lionkit believed that this was the best way to help his clan. So the training continued, and not a word was said to anyone.
Lionpaw-
When Lionkit became Lionpaw and was given the mentor of Snowspot, he expected the training with his father to stop. But he was wrong, instead the training became more intense. He learned battle training at night with his father, with claws unsheathed now, and learnt the borders and how to hunt during the day from Snowspots. Already he felt close to his mentor, a young, snowy white she-cat who was kind and patient. To Lionpaw, she was the purest light that reached him through his father's dark teachings. Snowspot noticed how tired Lionpaw was during training, how he was working himself into the ground, but she didn't say anything. Desperate to please both his father and Snowspots, Lionpaw threw himself into both rounds of training, both in the morning and the night. But soon, he knew that one would have to stop, lest he kill himself from sheer exhaustion. By now he was an adept fighter, as good as Snowspots, who noticed when they had their first practice spar and Lionpaw flattened her easily. She brought the matter up with him, and unable to lie to the kind hearted she-cat, he revealed his night-time activities to his mentor.
His battle training with Badgerstripe ended immidiately, though Snowspot's hadn't done anything about it. Once Lionpaw had spilled his guts about it, so to speak, she had told him that being a warrior meant taking responsibility and always doing what was right. So it was left to Lionpaw to decide what he should do. So the training ended, and Badgerstripe was furious, taking out his anger on Snowspot's who he had lured away with a mock hunting session together. He didn't kill her, Badgerstripe was strong but a coward, he could never have the strength to take a life. Plus, he never got the chance because a border patrol had been walking past and had caught the scent of blood. Of course they found the scene and both cats where taken to the clan, where Snowspot's was treated and Badgerstripe was exiled. Lionpaw was mad, feeling angry and upset at the betrayal of his father. Overwhelmed by emotions, he snapped and went after Badgerclaw, his second personality emerging for the first time. He killed his father, slowly, painfully, even when the older tom begged and tried to drag himself away on broken legs. Lionpaw wouldn't let up, refused to show mercy. He murdered his father with joy and felt no regret. He hid the body outside clan territory, leaving it for the crows to destroy all evidenence and made his way back to the clan.
Afterwards he was given Lilypool as a mentor, as Snowspot was still healing. He threw himself into training, and when he wasn't training with her, he was either cleaning out dens or training alone, perfecting his own signature moves. He never sat still, never let himself have enough time to think about what he had done. Because if he did, he would surely go mad with grief.
Lionstripe-
Lionpaw was given his warrior name of Lionstripe, beside his sisters now named Goldenstep and Skylily. During his vigil, when he had nothing to distract him but the sky, visions of his father overtook him and Lionstripe was finally overcome with feelings of guilt and horror. Most prominent was fear, fear of himself and fear for those around him. He didn't want to know what would happen if he snapped again. And so he began training himself in a new way, working his patience and peace of mind. He didn't tell anyone, didn't want them to know of his terrible burden or secret. He forced himself to sit on a tree limb for hours, not moving, just sitting with his eyes closed listening to the world around him. He became serene and peaceful, putting aside claws to exercise his brain and tongue. Many cats noticed the change in him, but few noted it, most believed it was because of what Badgerstripe had done to Snowspots. When it was in fact what he had done to Badgerstripe.
Soon later, Lionstripe and Snowspots became mates, much to the surprise of the clan, as the two had never seemed openly involved. But they loved each other, it was clear in their eyes whenever the two shared a glance. Lionstripe became a father a few moons later when Snowspot bore Mosskit and Shrewkit. He was granted the position of deputy when the old deputy Wildbreeze died of old age. Filled with pride and finally feeling that his life was going somewhere, Lionstripe was finally beginning to feel happy. He started battle training again, sparring with whoever or whatever volunteered, whether it be a clanmate or a tree. He became more active but always concious and calm, a part of him still fearing the beast inside.
One night in the warrior's den when he was having a troubled night, Lionstripe snuck into the nursery to sleep with his mate and kits. It was a cold night with rain splashing down to earth, so he made sure to dry his fur properly before slipping into the nest beside Snowspot. He felt something wet on her and smiled, knowing it was rain and that the lovely queen had been outside basking the rain, as he knew she loved to do. She used to tell him how calm and peaceful it made her. Purring, he licked her ear and fell asleep curled around her.
The next morning, the clan was awoken by a heart-broken scream. It was Lionstripe, who had awoken to find that it had no been water covering his mate and kits, but rather blood. They were all dead, and it was rogue scent covering them. It was impossible, it should have been impossible. But they were dead and the murderer was nowhere to be found. Filled with rage and despair, Lionstripe went out with the rest of his clan to hunt down and torture his next victim, who he wanted to feel under his claws. And he did find him, and he killed him. In much the same way as his father died, with lots of blood and even a few vital organs scattered around the clearing. But this time Lionstripe knew what he was doing, and he enjoyed doing it. Again, he disposed of the body and went back to his clan with news of the rogue's death, though the reasons behind the killing of Snowspot were never known. Now doubly burdened with the secrets he carried, Lionstripe worked even harder for his clan, and became a leader in a matter of moons.
Lionstar- (Present Day)
As a leader, Lionstar did not have any more 'accidents' for a while, he had perfected his serene attitude and used it to keep himself calm. Of course every now and then he became angered or moody, but never to the point of killing or haming a clanmate. His clan meant everything to him, and so he would never hurt any one of them. Though his secret fear remained that one day he would lose control and accidentally hurt one of his friends. So staying calm meant everything to him, and his newfound calm made him an excellent leader his clan was proud of.
At a border skirmish where Lionstar and his sister Skylily ran into a kittypet that could fight surprisingly well, Lionstar felt his sister was threatened. Because of this, he chased the kittypet, so lost in a frenzy that he sent him all the way to the Gorge, where the kittypet leapt off to escape his wrath. So caught up in the chase that Lionstar failed to notice, he ran right over the cliff after the cat and so ended his first life. It was a great embarrassment, and he never told his clan that a life had been lost, as he was ashamed by his lack of control.
Number of Lives lost and how: 1 Life lost, 8 Remaining.
First Life:
Lionstar actually accidentally killed himself. Back when he was first made a leader, he lost control when his sister was threatened and so went evil. Slowly stalking and then chasing the cat that had threatened Skylily, he accidentally chased him right off a cliff and plummeted to his death. But at least the other cat died as well. Lionstar was always embarrassed by the fact that his first life was essentially lost because he purposefully walked off a cliff.
