Hawkcry stalked slowly through the tall grass. He had better luck hunting this way than chasing down rabbits due to his heavier build. Shtshtsht. His ears pricked at the sound of rustling. Focusing on the sound he stalked forward, then made a leap with excellent accuracy. He landed directly on a mouse and killed it swiftly. "Alright!" he said happily. He picked it up, along with another mouse he caught and took it back to camp. He dropped them in the fresh-kill pile and picked out a small rabbit for himself, devouring it quickly before leaving yet again to the tall grass. He continued to hunt, and he heard rustling again. Wow! That was fast. He then launched himself up into the air to pounce, but twisted in the air last second to realize it was a cat. He came crashing down on the cat and scrambled to get up. "I'm terribly sorry, I thought you were a mouse." he said calmly, trying to hide his embarrassment. "Are you okay??"

SHADEWHISPER The ebony she-cat seemed to be lounging the grass considered the way her body was positioned. Not seeming as if she was alert at all and for any foolish creature to think such would be their down fall. In fact the she-cat was taking in the sounds around her awaiting any creature to dare make their noisy movement in the grass which she sat quietly. Her ears perked in anticipation as her amber orbs gaze about the span they could reach, only being able to catch flickers of the earth and most of the grass she let out a small sigh. That was until she heard movement north east of which she settled down neatly, crouching low to the ground making certain her belly could feel the cool of the earth but not be pressed against it she advanced. Yet the she-cat never got to see what creature was making the sound because in a flash of chestnut fur she found herself under another warrior of her clan.
She rose to her paws feeling anger rise preparing to scowl at a younger warrior only to catch the voice of a familiar cat. In fact when her sun colored eyes glanced upwards they met the eyes of Hawkcry. This is what caused a small chuckle of amusement. In addition to the purr that flooded after, as Shadewhisper settled onto her haunches listening as he scrambled for an explanation of the event that had just unfolded. He had every right to be embarrassed especially considering he was a senior warrior just like herself. She had heard the tom before she saw him but that still hadn't given her enough time to react. She had seen Hawkcry several times not to mention they had even been granted their warrior names around the same time, so to find him in a situation like this wasn’t all too surprising. She offered him a faint smile before she spoke her tone airy and filled with amusement, “Seems someone was trying to catch a large black mouse.”
Referring to herself as the mouse made her chuckle, Shadewhisper was anything but a helpless idiotic mouse and most of the clan knew it. She couldn’t wait to see the poor flushed tom’s response to that knowing it would either be clever or filled with further apologies. “And why yes I’m perfectly fine besides having being pounced on by a tom that has Hawk in his name.” Wrapping her tail around her paws she cocked her head at the cat waiting for a reply.

Great StarClan.. Hawkcry saw the anger flash in her eyes before she realized who had jumped on her. He was relieved that there was some amusement in her voice, at least she wasn't completely furious with him. He laughed and smiled awkwardly, he wasn't sure how to react at all. Large black mouse. Hahahaha. He held his laugh at the image of Shadewhisper losing all the fur on her tail, growing enormous ears, and her nibbling on grass. "Haha, yeah., guess they call me Hawkcry for a reason; diving down on prey - and cats - in hopes for food. All I needed to do was squawk like one and I'd fit the part!" he laughed awkwardly; Hawkcry imagined himself smashing his face into the dirt. He straightened up. "So, uh, besides me crashing down on you, how are you?" he offered an innocent smile.

SHADEWHISPER When Hawkcry let out his own laugh she could tell he was fairly relieved by the fact she wasn't as angry as she normally would appear. His awkward smile let her acknowledge he had caught on to her joke and started to relax. At least he hadn't become fearful of her like most of her clan mates did, Shadewhisper was known to be a little too serious for their liking but that was mainly because she didn't agree on their useless nonsense. If you were going to do something foolish at least let it be for a useful cause not something such a mere entertainment. Shadewhisper had a purpose for everything she did even it was simple it wasn't for something petty most commonly. Her ears twitched as he gave an explaination of what she had mentioned earlier. Well wasn't that pretty clever? As he straightened his posture the black cat waited for further words which she had expect to be coming.
How was she? Not many asked the black she-cat such, she rose her paw to her lips before her tongue ran across the silky fur. Well at the moment she was considerably worn out of energy but mentally she felt a wake for moons. Glancing up at the tom to catch his innocent smile before it faded away she return one faintly before she began to speak, "Age is catching my body but not my mental stability therefore I would say I'm alright as for you?" she paused from her licking to raise her eyes to meet his almost as if pressuring him to answer the question. The she-cat wasn't really the type to have chats that lasted longer than a few quick words unless of course she was eating therefore a conversation like this was a first for her in general. In addition it was with a cat she didn't think was annoying nor that she didn't wish to leave her presence after being unfortunately graced with it.

As Shadewhisper looked at him, her eyes made him feel slightly awkward. "I'm great," said Hawkcry with a quick lick to his chest. "I mean, besides landing on you and scaring the daylights out of me." Out of his whole life, he could not remember a time where he had held a conversation with Shadewhisper. Well, with anyone for that matter. All the other cats were young and had different interests, and the majority of his apprenticeship he was made fun of for being one of the slowest runners in the clan due to his unusual bulky build. It's nice to talk to someone casually, for once. "So, what were you doing out here? Just lounging and enjoying the sun?" asked Hawkcry, cocking his head to the side.
