Sandstar walked out camp her cream colored fur neatly groomed as always her bright blue eyes scanning the territory around her making sure that there was nothing to worry about. The riverclan leader headed to the river hoping to catch some fish and maybe swim around some. She hadn't really swam around in a while and that brough up memories of her mate Ripplestorm who had been killed by a rogue before even meeting his kits. She often wished that her kits had been able to meet their father but she knew that there was nothing she could do about that now. She let a sigh escape her maw feeling a deep sadness come over her but she was able to push it away when she reached the river. She made her face emotionless so that if any of her clan mates came by they wouldn't see the pain that she kept so well hiden. She sat by the waters edge and waited patiently for a fish to come along and she made sure that her shadow didn't fall across the water. Her paw suddenly shot out and she hooked a fish out of the water letting it drop to the shore and quickly finished it off.
Once she had caught at least two more fish she decided to swim around some and slid smoothly into the river wading in deep enjoying the feel of the water lapping over her back. She was small for her size so she didn't have to wade as deep as most of her warriors would have to, to get it to come over their back. With a content sigh she rolled over on her back and floated around for a little bit gazing up at the clouds. She couldn't help but thinking of her mate again and rolled back over until her paws touched the bottom of the river and just swam around pushing the thought of her mate to the back of her mind. She hadn't really relaxed for a really long time and it felt good to relax.

ICESTONE -
Icestone casually strolled from the camp, a brief sense of contentment taking over his being as he took that moment to relax. He had been on end for most of the day since his father, Ripplingbrook, had been on his tail for most of the day. He rolled his eyes softly and sighed at the thought of it all.
"You're a warrior. Act like it."
"Can't you do better with hunting? And what about your fighting skills? There's always room to improve."
It was basically his way of asking, "Son, why can't you be perfect like me? You're from my bloodline and I expect you to follow in my paw steps, now do as you're told and go hunting... And catch something this time."
Really.. It wasn't Icestone's hunting skills that were off, it was his fur color. He was always cautious and keeping his hunter's crouch nearly flawless as Sandstar had taught him. He was silent and stealthy.. But the problem was they saw him coming from a mile away and ran before he could even get within pouncing distance. That was just his luck. So, he was normally trying to build up running speed to snag his prey before he went into hiding. Fishing was slightly better but not by much so he normally got pretty excited when he got his paws on something.
The young warrior trailed from his thoughts and smiled lightly when he noticed his mentor fishing, seeming to me lost in her thoughts too.
"Great catches, Sandstar." He murmured respectfully as he noted the two fish piled beside her on the bank.

Sandstar had swam back to shore and had just shaken out her fur when her former apprentices voice reached her ears making her glance up at the tom. "Thank you Icestone," she meowed forcing a smile though this time the smile didn't reach her eyes and she couldn't pretend to be happy. Thoughts of her mate still swirled through her mind she really missed him and she still missed her family but she had already gotten over their deaths. "How has everything been?" she asked her face becoming emotionless she didn't want her clan mates to worry about her. 'I am a clan leader, I shouldn't have my clan worrying about me,' she thought the tip of her tail twitching. Like her Icestone was a small tom and she was glad that she hadn't let her clan mates pressure her into becoming a medicine cat and had proved them wrong. 'Now, I'm leader but it just isn't as great as I thought it would be, if Ripplestorm was here I would probably be happier.
She waited for her former apprentices answer and gazed across the river at Thunderclan territory she was glad that she was born into Riverclan and not Thunderclan. 'I don't see how Thunderclan can stand it in Greenleaf without swimming,' she thought turning her gaze away from Thunderclan territory and gazed at Icestone still awaiting his response.

ICESTONE -
Icestone paused and shrugged softly, offering her a smile though it was obvious something was bothering the she-cat. He couldn't imagine what, though. The clan was in high spirits, they opposing clans weren't threatening them. Probably remembering a few upsetting things.
"I've been alright." He answered, shrugging slightly and sitting down, his bushy tail curling silently around his paws as he looked at her in brief concern.
"Are you alright, Sandstar?" He asked softly, his voice slow and considering as he searched her face for any give away expressions.
"It seems something's wrong." He stated softly, frowning lightly and pausing briefly. He recalled the death of her mate and frowned lightly, glancing briefly away to focus on a stray leaf thrown from the tree from a squirrel that was no fluttering to the ground. Perhaps that was why she seemed so upset.

Sandstar gazed at her apprentice wondering if she should answer his question. "Well I was thinking of my mate and family, I wish my kits had been able to meet their father," she meowed flicking her ears back and forth. "It's good that your doing well," she meowed glancing at the sky. "It's really nice today," she murmured swishing her tail back and forth blinking. She pushed the thoughts of her mate to the back of her mind and thought about her kits. 'My kits is the only family I have left but my clan is just as important as my clan, and I can't have my clan worrying about me,' she thought gazing at the river. Every night she either dreamed of her families deaths or dreamed of the day that she found out that her mate was dead. Ripplestorm had been a strong and loyal warrior and had died a noble death. 'Ripplestorm, I'll never forget you,' she thought.
"You shouldn't be worrying about me, it's my job as leader to put my clans needs before my own," the riverclan leader meowed to Icestone. She loved her former apprentice and still had a the close bond that a mentor had with an apprentice so she felt like she could share anything with Icestone.
comments: sorry about my sulky post I usually play leaders I've played on other sites so that I am use to them, but I made Sandstar from scratch
