- Whisperingwinds // Riverclan, Warrior
Whisperingwinds calmly stalked towards the flowing river, her delicate paw steps silent against the earth below her as she slipped stealthily around the reeds to finally poke her head through the tangle of them all and scope out the area of the river, basically deserted. That sure was a surprise. It was that time of the year when days got hotter and nights got longer. Cats should be out spending as much time at the river as possible.
Or.... That was just how she and her father saw it. Of course the more time she had with the river to herself the happier she would most likely be. Especially if that damn tom wasn't around to but a damper on her mood. Her face twisted into a grimace at the simple thought of it. That tom. She had restricted herself to even think of his name since he had rejected her presence, and for what? Because she had took him up on his offer of helping her and she had answered with a reply? A reply where she stated that there wasn't much to help but he was welcome to? She set her jaw in annoyance and yanked the remaining half of her body out of the reeds. To make matters worse her father had sided with him!
She couldn't be mad with Braveheart... She could never be mad with Braveheart.. But when he had went into his fatherly mode and stated that she should give the tom his space and simple forget about it, that it was nothing, that maybe she could be a bit to annoyed with the fact that he had simply shoved her away? None of that annoyed her. What did was that he shoved her away when she had taken him up on his offer. He and that snotty little attitude he had let out after she had replied. Her pelt bristled at the thought as she placed herself in front of the river, unsheathed her white claws and staring down at her reflection as she attempted to calm herself and focus on hunting for the clan. Doting over that tom wouldn't do her any good when it came to this.

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
Hawkfeather hadn't meant to stumble upon the beige she-cat or did he? After all he had asked her own father where she was lurking about. He had been certain at the time the old man hadn't really known and just thrown a suggestion out there --which destroyed his plan- see he was just supposed to make it seem like he was making an effort for her again when he wasn't exactly sure if he was or wasn't. He had inquired the old tom such a question to come over to the river to not find her there and continue on knowing he at least tried, hoping it would put him at ease. What he hadn't expected was her to be exactly where he father said and not to mention she seemed awfully pissed.
He had frozen in place when he caught a whiff of her and shivers spilled down his spine; he cursed in his head at the heavens for giving him such a demon like pleasure. He hadn't even caught site of her yet and he was having urges. Fox-dung, was the word that scrambled across his mind in a hurry to exit it as he stalked closer to her presence. Moving silently between the reeds he stopped at the edge, his eyes the only thing visible at the moment he studied her.
She lumbered to the edge of the river bank and unsheathed those claws quickly, he nearly thought she knew he was here and was going to turn on him. That was until she settled down carefully to make certain her shadow didn't fall into the vibrating water. Her eyes focusing intensely on the body of water, and to any other clan cat outside of his own would think she was crazy. He knew she was hunting, which made him not even want to approach her, yet it was too late now to turn back wasn't it?
Well if he was going to startle her he might as well do it now before she struck the water or reeled her paw back to reveal a glistening silver fish. Clearing his throat he pushed through the reeds and stood awkwardly waiting for her to turn around, "Whisperingwind." How else was he supposed to start the conversation? He didn't have much with comforting or putting a band aid over the injured relationship; in fact it was the first relationship he had ever encounter leaving him as helpless as a fish out of water.

- Whisperingwinds // Riverclan, Warrior
Whisperingwinds blew out a small huff of breath as she forced herself to relax. Being tensed up like she was wouldn't help anything at all when it came to hunting fish, she needed to be relaxed, not tensed up, yet still ready and poised to strike for when she saw a flash of silver scales striking through the water. She sighed quietly, closing her eyes for a few moments until she caught scent of a familiar tom she currently didn't want to be around. Her eyes opened in an instant as she heard his voice simply uttering her name in that annoyingly calm tone of his.
Her eyes slowly narrowed as she continued to stare back down at the river for a few more seconds, to make sure she didn't miss sight of her prey, before sheathing her claws and turning to watch the tom with brief annoyance glittering in her blue depths.
"Hawkfeather." She huffed simply before turning to focus back on the river in front of her.
"Is it important? I'm slightly busy." She stated, just as bitter as she could be which was incredibly out of character for the she-cat. She hated it. Hated how he could affect her temper so easily, how he could get make her blood boil. She wasn't one of hostile nature, she was always one of peaceful nature, rarely acting as she seemed to be acting at that moment.
"Relax.. He hasn't even said two words to you and your snapping." She urged to herself as she unsheathed her claws again and focused intently back on the river, please to see that brief flash of fish striking about in it. She smiled ever so faintly to herself, raising her paw in a poised position to strike at the water. She sighed quietly, forcing herself to relax again, before striking out at the water and quickly revealing one of the many glistening silver fish of the river gasping for breath as she took it from it's watery home. She quickly pinned it to the bank and bit into it to seize its thrashing before shifting her position to stand with the fish in her mouth to place it farther back from the back should the nerves kick in and it accidentally thrash back into the water.

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
Hawkfeather flinched at her tone mentally; it made him feel so disappointed he could cause her to be that way especially when he simply adored her. She swished around to face the river and another cacophonous statement was slipped out of those lips. He was going to speak that was until his claw slashed the water and he watched her reveal a fish which she simply nudged further away from the bank as expecting it to act up and attempt to return from the home it was taken from.
He swallowed a bit and found his guts somewhere within his body allowing him also remember how to use his vocal cords, "I think it is important but you may not, seeing are you are busy." He stated his tone neutral betraying none of the anxiety he was feeling inside as he watched her and the tension that surrounded them. It disturbed him she was the one upset, being angry didn't suit her but he couldn't say it made her any less attractive because that would be a lie. His tail swished in the air as silence unfolded and he took a step forward only to take two steps back as he rethought his movements.
"If you don't wish my company you can just send me away, I'll go if you want me to if you don’t so be it; either way at least tell me." He settled onto his hind quarters to settle the tension building in his body. Hawkfeather had never felt so skittish before and for her to exerting such amount of anger had his tick making his head swagger back and forth almost as a nearly rabid speed. If anyone else who didn't know of his little tick they'd be scared of him or think of him to be insane, and maybe he was. He wasn't entirely certain of that one yet but the answer would soon to come he was certain. Now if he would like it or not was the reason he feared it.

- Whisperingwinds // Riverclan, Warrior
Whisperingwinds briskly turned back to focus on the river, her ears laying back against her head in the process of it as her tail tip twitched. That tone of his. She rolled her eyes softly and looking silently down at the river, unable to understand how he could always remain so calm. With her it was impossible. When she got mad it was almost impossible to distract her and pull her out of it until she felt like being pulled out of it. She kept her emotions so bottled up and away from the world that when she became angry anything anyone did was wrong, no matter how innocent or perfect it was. It was like she was against the world and nothing could please her anymore.
Then there was the fact that the more her clan mates asked if she was okay and the more she replied that she was fine and the more they continued to ask again annoyed the hell out of her even more then Hawkfeather had a few days ago. She sighed quietly, surprised that the water hadn't began to boil under her intense blue eyes. Where had the bubbly little she-cat who never cared about herself, only for others, went? The one who adored life and all of its little things when no one else could find anything good about it? She sighed quietly to herself at Hawkfeather's next statement as she thought it over, her ear twitching slightly as they rose back up to stand on top of her head.
"I don't know, Hawkfeather, if I answer that question will you just leave like you did last time to? Or will you actually hang around? Because last time I answered one of your questions you were basically telling me to go away." She snorted softly in response, frowning at that. she had been planning to try and come back with a softer and approaching reply but it clearly hadn't happened.

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
He reply was a question which annoyed him especially when it pointed out his faults. He hadn't asked her that now had he, but he should have expected such she was a female and she didn't like the decision being on her solely alone. No one did, it drove them crazy sometimes when each option seems so right at that very moment. He huffed and shook his head lightly at her. If she wasn't going to give him a serious reply it was obvious he had already lost her to the emotions she kept so pinned up.
He had told himself the only reason he had approached her was to make sure she didn't get swallowed by her emotions. After all leaving them pinned up for so long when one got lose, especially a negative one all the other emotions unrelated boosted that one and she would stomp around with that anger for nearly a moon. He didn't even know if he wanted to speak with her anymore she seemed so hopelessly stuck in her emotions she wouldn't recognize he was attempting to apologize and Hawkfeather NEVER apologized to anyone.
Her father had warned him she was too stubborn for her own good but he didn't know it would be like this, he wondered if this was how his mother felt when she had watched over him. He shook his head again to clear those thoughts and replied, "I did say I'd only leave if you wished, and it seems like you do considering your choice of words yet you haven't told me so I shall stay." He titled his head waiting for a response, if she was going to play the guessing game he was just going to push her buttons still she gave him a direct reply. He didn't have time for those games. They needed to speak now and at least get to the point where he could apologize. Then perhaps she would dismiss him, or so he hoped so he wouldn't dwell in her angry presence any longer.
But he had a very good feeling she wouldn't do that, she'd fuss at him and ask for an explanation like all females did when they didn't understand. It made him realize why most males didn't exactly long for a mate till they were older, females and their emotions could cause you to be exhausted without you even having to work for the clan someday. Today would be that day for Hawkfeather and he would soon learn not to confuse a female with pinned up emotions ever again.

Whisperingwinds bristled in annoyance as she attempted to focus back on the river. "You just love being a pain in the ass, don't you?" She grumbled under her breath, rolling her eyes softly. "Why do I even have to give you a straight answer? You wandered over here on your own, you should be able to wander away if you'd like, shouldn't you?" She answered impatiently as she unsheathed her claws, trying to look for the flashing of silver scales beneath the waters surface only to find nothing, thought she still remained ready to strike should she catch sight of her prey darting around. The clan would need more then one simple fish and between the anger boiling under her skin and Hawkfeather being a distraction to her it was hard to focus. "How did you even know I was here, anyways?" She growled, shifting her position ever so slightly to get a better view of the water.

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
Hawkfeather rose to his paws and advancing closer to the angry she-cat he didn't pause when he unsheathed her claws instead he moved faster rushing to her side. He settled down facing her even thought her body was directed towards the river. "Your father told me you'd be here. You shouldn't be so angry dear, your not even all that angry at me its an overload of emotions." His voice rose in level as he spoke, and he quickly diminished it when it reached the word emotion. He nudged her with his nose to her shoulder, sending a wave of thrill down his own spine. He didn't want her to be angry anymore it was going to consume the little beige she-cat he had once known and it had been his fault so setting off the fire. Now he was to be the one to cease it.
All because of his inability to work well with others social and the quick undying tongue of his, he was so impulsive when he spoke sometimes he forgot how it would impact others usually leading up to moments like this; his submission. He had never felt so vulnerable till now, he was so willing to win back her cheerful glow he'd disappear from the clan if that was what it took. He missed the careless laugh she had and the small smile that kicked on the end of those lips when she fought back a chuckle at something foolish. He sighed, "Whisperingwinds, please.... I apologize. Just don't be angry anymore." He muttered in a hush tone his nose touched her shoulder once more as if a reminder to her how close they were. "I know I'm an ass. I already know...." He mumbled out as he remembered her mentions that before.
Hawkfeather didn't even know what else to say he had never been good with words unless they were for negative purposes. Now he seemed as lost a kit in bare leaf far from the clan. Whisperingwinds could be angry with him all she liked but when she took it out on others not only did it ruin her image but it made him seem even more like the monster he truly was. Perhaps he shouldn't have gotten involved with her but it was too late not to pull away unless of course he could heal this and then maybe she would pull away so he wouldn't. Yet he couldn't tell she was so difficult to read especially when her eyes held that dull color in those normally illuminating ethereal blue eyes."Look I know I'm an idiot and you can hate my guts all you like but just don't take it out on others if anything if you feel the urge to yell at anyone or harm them let it be me. I can't have the clan taking the heat for something I did and you won't be reasonable enough to calm your emotions and at least talk to me."His voice was strong and defiant almost as if he didn't want to deal with the nonsense anymore but the underline of emotion was what broke him "hard core" triumphant sound. His head lifted as he peered out at the river, preparing to leave or be cursed at. Either didn't matter anymore she just needed to calm her emotions and he could be at peace again. Stay looking from afar like he had the first time, and this time he wouldn't go trying to break the promise he made to his mother.

- Whisperingwinds // Riverclan, Warrior
Whisperingwinds paused in surprise, her eyes darting over to look at Hawkfeather for a few seconds. Her father had told him? Her father had sided with the tom again and ratted her out? She sighed softly and blinked dismissively as she looked away again. Again, she could never be mad with Braveheart. There was always a reason behind the tom. Perhaps he had gotten tired of seeing her stomp around to and had sent Hawkfeather to try and fix everything? Perhaps Braveheart had thought that this would be the best thing to do? She sighed lowly and frowned, forcing herself to at least hear him out without interrupting him for the next few moments.
She paused in slight surprise when she felt his nose nudge her shoulder and glanced over in faint surprise that died off after a seconds pause. Wait- He... Apologized? Hawkfeather was standing at her side apologizing to her over this whole situation? She felt her blue eyes visibly widen in surprise at that, her ears pricking up in sudden curiosity to hear what he had to say. Honestly, now.. How many toms did she know that would come up and be the first to apologize? Counting every tom in the clan? One. That was Hawkfeather.
Most toms held to much pride to break down and be the first to say sorry, so naturally Whisperingwinds was surprised. She frowned, her blue eyes slowly softening as she hadn't meant for him to over hear her words. She let out a small and quiet sigh before lightly licking his shoulder in response, her tail curling around her paws as she positioned herself to where she had turned and was now facing him.
"Hate you? ...I don't hate you." She immediately stated almost as soon as he had gotten the words out. "And I couldn't harm a cat even it I wanted to. Anyways, I'm probably the one who should be apologizing. I'm the one who's been acting like an ass for the past few days." She muttered, slumping her shoulders in a small shrug before offering him a faint smile of response.
"But honestly.. I don't know any other tom that would walk up to me and apologize just to see me happy again." She murmured lightly, smiling softly at the thought of that as most of her anger seemed to fade. "And I really appreciate hearing that."

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
Hawkfeather observed her as she glanced over in surprise and even more astonishment when he apologized. But waiting for her reaction made him worry if he had done the right thing or not, she seems to be lost in her own world behind those azure eyes of hers. He smiled faintly at the thought that he felt that way some days, of course that was always from a far. He hadn't even dared talk to her the other day when he had cause a upset of emotions, and now here he was again. Would he leave on the same result as last time?
He didn't even want to think about it and his smile quickly vanished as it had never appeared when she let out a small sigh revealing she had returned to the world they both shared. When her head leaned forward to lick his shoulder Hawkfeather didn't know how to react, her tongue had come in contact with him and not while lapping the blood from his lifeless crippled body as Stormpelt had teased earlier. When she turned to face him, the little space that was between them had his nerves on end and his ticking started up a little violently. It didn't decrease even after she had assured him she didn't hate him, nor did she want to hurt him. Those were two very good things but Hawkfeather wasn't even close to coming his nerves especially not after that smile of hers when she finished up tell him she appreciated hearing that. Perhaps that sudden vulnerability was useful at times; if he caused her to be like this he might do it more often if his pride wouldn't stand in the way.
As if he had been hold his breath he exhaled heavily, and his eyes searched hers for a moment. "I don’t- Wait, no- Just I-..." No words could form completely that suited the moments and he frowned displeased with his own fumble for words. "I like you...better happy." He quickly covered up the once exposure of his feelings, he wasn't to get out of line with all these emotions. Just because she accepted his apology did not mean she had the same emotions as he did. His tail snaked around his paws to resist from the urgent weight it felt that would cause a noticeable droop. Glancing up at her he spoke his tone in it reasonably calm sound, "You should probably get back to hunting for the clan before Stormpelt has my head for interrupting."
No matter how much he hated that cat, he could never bring himself to kill the fluffy over-grown feline, not to mention half the clan was either in lust or love with him so it wasn't like they wouldn't pin his death on Hawkfeather nearly immediately. Shaking those thoughts away he patiently waited for her response not having at least half an idea of what it would be like.

Whisperingwinds watched him softly for a moment before smiling, her head slightly tipping in faint curiosity. Naturally most cats would like her a lot better when she was happy instead of when she was snapping everyone's heads off, that was a given fact.
She paused at hearing his next statement and slumped her shoulders in a small shrug of response, "I work my tail off for the clan everyday, I'm sure Stormpelt wouldn't kill the both of us if we relaxed for once. Besides, if he asks I'll just tell him the fish weren't biting today." She laughed softly, her blue eyes pausing to briefly flicker back over to the river.
"Unless you wanna hang out and hunt with me? Once we've caught enough we can hang out or something?" She suggested unsurely, not knowing how he would react to the thought of it like he had last time.

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
When the she-cat's shoulders lowered to show her disagreement with his comment of Stormpelt he felt his ego rise at that thought. She was willing to rebel against the puff of a cloud that was named deputy, not to mention it was with him! When she granted him the option of turning tail or dwell in her presence aiding in her in hunting his eyes drifted to the water; his head tilted down the river to glance at a flash of what seemed to be shimmer light. Hawkfeather knew better it was a school of fish that would soon pass by the river and if he didn’t get by the edge in time he’d miss his selected prize.
"You'll never catch more fish than me." His tone was serious but a flicker of amusement reached his emerald eyes. He waited for her to position herself towards the river as he stare mesmerized by the rapid flashes of silver glistening scales; before another mob of silver swept by his paw sliced into the water scooping at the water reeling it back towards his left in an incredibly smooth motion. The flop of a tail was the only sense that allowed him to know he had accomplished his task in retrieving the desired fish. It was only moments before the movement stopped and he glanced over his left shoulder smirking satisfied at the over-grown fish. “Let’s see how well your mentor taught you at fishing.”
He teased lightly wondering if she was a well-developed fisher or if that had been because she was fueled by emotion and his presence. While he had removed the stimulus of emotion he couldn’t remove him presence he wanted to watch her. See what else there was to this she-cat, not that he didn’t know most or so he thought. He would have never guessed she half the things she told him in their last fight, cocking his head he watched her waiting for either a reply or an action.

Whisperingwinds smirked softly at hearing his statement and narrowed her eyes in challenge. "Wanna bet?" She shot back, not to surprised when he positioned himself to face the river again and almost immediately scooped out a flopping fish. She smiled in amusement at that and glanced over as he moved the fish to start on his own pile a little ways from hers. "Well now, if you wanna get technical about it it's mentors. And for your information they taught me just fine." She replied smoothly as she shifted to where she was looking back towards the river, her blue eyes delighted with this challenge. Her first mentor had been Robinflight, a stealthy brown tabby she-cat with a knack for fishing and swimming, lucky for Whisperingwinds those skills would come in handy today.
A few moons after her apprenticeship Robinflight had injured herself somehow, it was thought to be that an approaching cat from another clan blinded her in one eye, and her new mentor was called upon to be Braveheart. Thought she felt pity for her former mentor she was absolutely delighted to have a new mentor and at least one thing she could boast about to her brother Soaringpaw. So when he was chosen for the patrols she could simply shoot back with the reply of, "Oh, that's okay. Daddy and I will be at the river fishing it you need us." Surely enough that comment always made her brothers fur bristle, considering that normally fought for their father's affection when one stayed around for to long. Needless to say Whisperingwinds was and still is a Daddy's girl, and never felt for her mom like she did for Braveheart.
Braveheart was always there when she needed him, while Rainpool, though she was an amazing mother, seemed to favor Soaringpaw more then her daughter. That didn't bother Whisperingwinds at all, though it was still a pain to see Rainpool pass away later on. She blinked dismissively as she focused back on the river, waiting until the ripples died down and the river calmed once more. Eventually the flashing of silver fish began to start up again and Whisperingwinds smiled in delight as she shifted lightly to get a better look. Eventually she swiped at the water, yanking her paw back immediately to reveal another fish. She quickly seized its flopping before pushing it back with her other catch before turning back to Hawkfeather and shooting him a triumphant grin. Word Count - 410 Comments - N/A

Hawkfeather of Riverclan
Hawkfeather ears twitched in amusement when she replied to him, correcting his word of "mentor" he had forgotten she had been given two. Only because her first mentor, Robinwing? No Robinflight had injured herself and therefore she was passed onto her father Braveheart. He hadn't paid attention to her after that she had been an apprentice and hadn’t really caught his attention to be exact. She was a cute little apprentice but back then they all were. Besides he trying to get his own little jobs done about the clan perhaps that why when she became a warrior he had fallen into awe.
He hadn't even noticed how beautiful she had become till it was far too late, while he had been working for the clan that could barely stand his presence Stormpelt had snuck up on the female the bronze tom didn’t even realize he had a lusting for. That was when the rivalry began between the two toms officially, when Storm pelt had caught the little tiger observing the she-cat as she carried several fish in her jaws to the fresh-kill pile. His words to Hawkfeather had been mocking when he approached, “Staring at the fresh-kill you won’t capture?” To anyone else it would have appeared at that moment as if they were speaking on the fish but those two toms knew better. Letting out a low growl at how Stormpelt attempted to compare her to a fish, an item. He didn’t like that especially when the she-cat clearly deserved more respect than that. Their little conversation ended with Hawkfeather getting sent to do apprentice duties for a moon by their leader. He despised how everyone immediately took Stormpelt’s side it was why at one point he thought of leaving the clan life for that of rouge. Besides he hadn’t been any use to them it seemed nor would his clan particularly care. Yet the thing that had stopped him sat next to him now watching the river as if she hadn’t seen one before. He smiled faintly at her even though she hadn’t been watching at the moment. He was so much older than her, he wondered if her father would approve of their relationship but then again they didn’t necessarily have one. They were just friends and that seemed to be as far as it would ever go. He let out a small sigh his eyes dulling for a spilt second before his nerves sent him ticking at the surprise he felt when she hand flung a fish onto the earth floor. He covered up his astonishment with a small chuckle and nodded at her obviously pleased grin. “Just because you can scoop one fish doesn’t mean that you’ll beat me you know.”
He said turning back to the river, he repeated the same movement from earlier several more times collecting four smaller fish that the big one he had retrieved but that was merely because he wasn’t as focused. He was too busy noticing how their tails and collided briefly. His tick had dialed back a bit but it was still jerking his head about every few minutes. “Have you ever felt that if you tried something it wouldn’t work?” His voice remained calm although his heart pounded fiercely, he wasn’t going to be confessing today but he had to know a little about how she would react if she did and well how he was going to go about it Stormpelt wouldn’t be at all pleased. He smirked lightly but a nagging fear gripped at him lightly on his shoulder, what if she was attracted to Stormpelt? Or even a different tom.
Now that he looked back on it he had seen her often interacting with other toms and they seemed just as swooned over Whisperingwinds as he was. With good reason which was possibly the reason Braveheart was protective of her, his little girl was beautiful with a good soul what was there not to protect? Some wanted to play with her innocence, others destroy it and others just wanted her to send another cats life into misery. It seemed nearly every tom wanted to use her for a purpose that wasn’t meant to be in a relationship between mates. He wondered if she even noticed but then again she was so young she was possibly ignorant to a lot of things that was somewhat a good thing but also a bad.
Hawkfeather shoved those thoughts aside not trying to be a worried queen about situations that had nothing to do with him and waited for her reply silently.

Whisperingwinds smiled in amusement at that and rolled her eyes softly at him as she focused back towards the river, only to be greeted my ripples and flying water drops that she twitched off every time Hawkfeather managed to steal another fish from its watery home.
"Now you're just showing off." She stated teasingly, flicking his shoulder lightly with her tail tip before letting it drop back to the earth and swipe mindlessly against the ground as she attempted to put her mind back on catching fish and not on conversation, though all she managed to catch sight of was ripples that blurred her vision of the fish, which were probably darting away from the last commotion of one of their kind being caught. She paused to look back over to Hawkfeather when he spoke again, her blue eyes curious at catching the question.
Well now, that was easy to answer. "Yes." She answered with a small and confirming nod towards herself in response. "I'm sure a lot of cats have, don't you think?" She answered, tipping her head in light curiosity. Word Count - 182 Comments - Short post. :/
